Watering plants can be a tedious chore, or it can be a relaxing hobby, depending on how you do it.

Having a lush, green garden and lawn, or a healthy collection of attractive potted plants around the house certainly improves the look of your home and makes it much more pleasant to live in. However, maintaining a regular routine for watering plants to keep them looking healthy and attractive can sometimes seem like more trouble than it’s worth.

If you love your plants and your garden, it’s worth taking the time to plan an efficient, regular maintenance and watering system which will keep your plants healthy, without taking up more of your time and energy than you can afford to spend. Choosing the best plant watering equipment for your lawn, garden or potted house plants.

If you have the time, using a hand held watering can or spray mister to water your potted plants is probably the most effective way to keep them lush and healthy. Doing the watering by hand means you can monitor the amount of watering your plants need, and the amount of watering they are receiving very closely. If you don’t have the time to water your house plants by hand, or you are away from home often, you can use self watering planters or simple automatic plant watering devices, which do a very effective job.

If you love to spend time relaxing in your garden, watering the lawn and plants by hand is similarly very effective and efficient. However, if you don’t have the time, an automatic sprinkler system is also a good option, so long as it is designed and installed correctly. It’s essential to incorporate some sort of sensing device in your automatic sprinkler system, to ensure it doesn’t water the plants when they don’t need it.
